Antonia has been part of CLIC Internation House Málaga as an Eramus+ student and intern. Here she writes about her experience here:
When I arrived on the 12th of November at Málaga Airport I was welcomed by 21 degrees and sunshine. This is when I knew that it was going to be a pleasant stay. After a short train journey to the centre of Málaga, Blanca already expected me in front of the apartment. She handed me the keys to the apartment and gave me a short introduction. The apartment was very well equipped and very new.
I made friends very fast with my roommate Kellie who led me a little bit through the city and showed me the way to the school. After a short but nice dinner at the beach I went home early to prepare myself for the first day of school.
My first day started with a short oral placement test and with Spanish lessons. In a group of 5 people Nacho taught us the
rules of the Spanish language. Nacho encouraged us to speak a lot and to become more confident with the use of another language. Therefore, I would like to thank Nacho for his patience because he needed a lot of it ;-).
After my lessons and a long lunch break, which I mostly enjoy in the sun, I went back to the school to do my internship.
I had many tasks at the school, including writing for the website, support of the Department of Foreign Languages. I also published announcements on different platforms to search for trainees which I had to translate from Spanish into German and English. Another task was to distribute flyers of the school around the centre of Málaga. This allowed me to get to know the city even better.
The school offers an activity program which changes weekly. It consists of many cultural activities which promote
conversations. All activities are optional. So if someone likes to spend an afternoon with friends at the beach or in a Tapas bar, it is possible as well.
There is no lack of bars in Málaga. Particularly the “Terazzas” are to be recommended, these are bars on rooftops over Málaga which guarantee a nice view over the city.
It will be very hard to leave Málaga. The atmosphere in Málaga and of course the incredible weather will be missed. Though, I am sure that it was not my last visit to Málaga!
Also a big THANK YOU to Clic International House Málaga, in particular Monique, Blanca and Marta – the strong trio of the school – which have welcomed me and have helped in every situation.
