Not sure exactly what SIELE is? SIELE stands for Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española. Basically, SIELE is an internationally recognised official accreditation of your Spanish level. It is accredited by the Instituto Cervantes and has quickly become a popular alternative to the DELE exam.

Why Seville?

How is the exam and the course structured?
The SIELE exam is made up of 4 parts: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. You can either take all 4 parts at once and receive your certificate afterwards, or you can sit the exam in individual parts and receive a report on how you did for that one part*. Once you receive your certificate, it lasts for 2 years.
The main objective of the SIELE exam preparation courses in Seville is to help students get familiar with the exam’s structure, their time management skills, and the best strategies to get the best possible result. This course is not aimed at improving your Spanish level (although of course, that will likely happen indirectly), but it will teach you key exam techniques and how to best use the Spanish knowledge that you already have. At the end of the course, you’ll sit a mock exam so that you can get a feel for the real thing!

DELE vs SIELE? What suits me best?
So there are quite a few differences between DELE and SIELE. First of all, SIELE is 100% computer-based, which means it’s a lot less intimidating as there will only be you and the computer in the room. Unlike DELE, the SIELE exam is not split into different levels. All students take one universal test and their results from that test will determine which level they are. C1 is the maximum level you can achieve, which is why so many students take this exam as proof of their Spanish level for university applications. SIELE also contains Spanish from countries outside of Spain, so you will be tested on more international Spanish.
A great advantage of the SIELE exam is that not only is it separated into 4 sections, but these sections of the exam can be taken independently. That means if you do really well on 3 sections but poorly in one, you only need to redo the section that you performed poorly in. DELE, on the other hand, is pass or fail for the entire exam. You will also receive your results much quicker with SIELE (3 weeks maximum!).
When do classes take place?
Classes take place Monday to Thursday from 17:30 to 19:10. Your course can start any Monday and can last as many weeks as you think you need. The exam will take place at the end of each course.
Is the class material included in the course?
Yes. All the class materials, including the mock exam, are included in the course.
Anything else I should know?
If you want to give an extra boost to your Spanish level, you can combine this course with our Intensive Spanish Courses. The preparation and study needed for any exam shouldn’t be underestimated, but with your own hard work and the help of your experienced CLIC teacher, your success at SIELE is pretty much guaranteed!
