Granada Didactic Course
Interested in teaching Spanish as a second language? If you’re studying teaching, already graduated, or hold some sort of teaching qualification, then this course was made for you! You will learn the absolute key skills you need to be a great teacher and you’ll do it in one of the most modern, state-of-the-art schools in the world!
If all that isn’t enough for you, you can even combine this course with a one-week tutored internship at CLIC Seville, Cadiz, or Malaga! You’ll practice everything you learned in Granada in a real classroom environment and get essential feedback from your tutor. And the icing on the cake? If you do this combined course, you can receive 6 European ECTS credits from the University of Barcelona!
What is the Centro de Magisterio la Inmaculada?

Where is this course?
This course is located in the city of Granada at the Centro de Magisterio la Inmaculada. However, if you add the internship, you will do that in one of CLIC’s schools in either Seville, Cadiz, or Malaga (your choice!).

- Teacher’s portfolio.
- The objectives and approaches to teaching a foreign language.
- The teacher’s role in the classroom.
- Basic Spanish grammar issues.
- Group dynamics.
- How to introduce new language.
- Techniques and activities to practise new language.
- Language skills.
- Using texts.
- Use of audio-visual material.
- Analysis of textbooks in the market.
- Teaching pronunciation.
- Evaluating and correcting errors.
- Teaching Spanish for specific purposes.
- Job prospects for Spanish teachers.
How is the course structured?
Classes will be held Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 17:00 (with plenty of breaks thrown in)
9:30 to 11:30 and 12:00 to 14:00
Study essential theories and methods for teaching Spanish as a foreign language. You will cover everything mentioned in the previous section.
15:00 to 17:00
Study the more practical side of teaching and all the skills related to that. Also reflection and discussion on day’s teachings.
Is this course accredited?
If you do the course by itself? No.
If you combine it with a teaching internship at CLIC? Yes. This course is accredited by La Universidad de Barcelona, through El Instituto de Formación Continua IL3. It’s worth 6 official ECTS credits.
What are ECTS credits?
ECTS stands for European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, the system used by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) to regulate and guarantee the quality of certified studies.
Each ECTS credit corresponds to at least 25 hours of work, including not only hours spent in class but also hours spent studying and completing tasks.
What will I receive at the end of my course?
If you attend 90% of the classes, exceed the course objectives, and adequately complete the teaching portfolio, you will receive a certificate of aptitude issued by International House Seville and the Centro de Magisterio la Inmaculada. With this certificate, you can do one of our teaching internships in Seville and (provided you’re a teaching student, a graduate, or hold a teaching qualification) will receive 6 ECTS credits from the University of Barcelona.
If you do not achieve the requirements for the certificate of aptitude, you’ll be given a certificate of attendance.
What is the teacher’s portfolio?
The teacher’s portfolio is a reflection of everything you’ve learned during the course. Its completion is essential to ensure you get the certificate!
