Our Spanish Course for Over 50s – Language and Culture is offered several times a year and is specially designed for mature learners who want to combine Spanish lessons with enriching cultural experiences. Classes take place in our international adult school environment and, in order to ensure that each student is placed in the group that best matches their language level, lessons may sometimes include adult students of different ages. However, all cultural activities, social events, and the after-class programme are organised exclusively for participants aged 50 and over, ensuring a shared experience with peers of the same age group
As well as classes, our fabulous cultural program also forms an important part of your experience. Prices include your welcome drink, an orientation walk, entry to museums, an authentic meal with a teacher, and a flamenco show. Not to mention a cookery class so that you can show off your skills back home! You will also be able to make the most of a special ‘highlight activity’ – from a walk on the Caminito del Rey to a day trip to nearby Seville. All our activities are chosen to show you the best of Malaga and give you that motivation to get out and about and speak Spanish.

About the Spanish Course
Why Malaga?
Situated on the western shore of the Mediterranean sea, Malaga is a vibrant coastal city that boasts beautiful beaches, amazing weather – beautiful in spring, summer and autumn, it also has one of the warmest winters in Europe.
Wandering in the city, not only will you see monumental architectural testaments to Malaga’s rich past, from the Alcazaba de Malaga to the Cathedral, but you can also relax and take in the botanical gardens or explore the works of Pablo Picasso in the Museum situated in his birthplace. Alongside the culture, there is a cosmopolitan shopping area with bars and restaurants that offer plenty of places to try out your language skills on the locals.
With an international airport, high-speed train connections to Granada, Cordoba, Gibraltar and Seville, Malaga is also ideally situated if you want to be able to explore the area a little more widely. How many hours will I be in class?
There are 20 lessons each week and every class is 50 mins long.
How big are the classes?
Our classes have between 6 and a maximum of 10 students so that groups are intimate, you get plenty of attention, and get the most from your time with us.
When do classes take place?
Your classes take place in the morning from 9:15 to 13:00. This gives you plenty of time to get out and enjoy our Cultural Program. This includes everything from guided tours, workshops, wine-tasting, language exchanges and much more.

How will you determine my Spanish level?
Before our classes begin, we make sure you are at the correct level! First, we will send you a link to an online Spanish test that you fill out and send it back to us before your course begins. Then, before you arrive, you will have a friendly, informal interview by WhatsApp or Zoom with our Head of Studies, not only to determine your level but also to talk about your wants and needs while studying with us.
What does the price include?
The price for 2 weeks includes: course material, textbook, orientation walk, welcome drink, one meal with the teacher, one flamenco show, all cultural activities and entry to museums, cookery class and a highlight activity according to season. The activities will be divided equally between the two weeks.
Groups and levels
We teach all levels and you will be placed in a group according to your level. Since we are a small centre, we do not have groups with only 50+ students, you will in be in class with students of different ages and nationalities. You will have a special cultural programme with ONLY participants of the 50+ course.
