Spanish and Surf in Cadiz

People say you can’t have it all, but maybe you can! Fun language classes where you learn Spanish, make new friends and have a good time; followed by beautiful beaches where you’ll hit the waves and learn to surf with the pros! Sound like your dream?

Live it with us here in CLIC International House in Cadiz. We offer you the chance to combine our most popular Intensive Language Courses with 2 Surf classes of 90 minutes every week, so that you can work your body and your brain! Get the most from your stay.

How many hours of class will I have per week?

We recommend you sign up for 20 language lessons per week of 50 mins. That will give you time to get to grips with the language and to enjoy meeting your classmates. Then, when you hit the beach twice a week, you have 90 mins in the waves to disconnect and experience something totally different. And, if you decide that you want to add more surf lessons to the package, no problem! Just let us know and we will adjust the prices. For example, if you choose 2 extra surf lessons per week it costs €70. For 2 extra classes for 2 weeks it costs €140 etc.

How big will my language class be?

Your Spanish class will have an average of 8 students and the maximum number allowed in a class is 10. We don’t allow classes to be any bigger than that so the teacher can really cater for your needs.

When do classes take place?

All our classes take place in the morning. As your course is 20 hours, you will be in class from 9:15-13:00 or 11.20 to 15.10, which gives you plenty of time to get out and about, practice surf and take advantage of our fantastic cultural programme in the afternoons.

How do the surf classes work?

We will organise everything for you so that all you need to do is come along and enjoy!

Is this course accredited?

Yes. International House schools offer the option of validating and transferring credits to European and North American universities for the Language component of this course.

What are ECTS credits?

ECTS stands for European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, the system used by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) to regulate and guarantee the quality of certified studies. Each ECTS credit corresponds to at least 25 hours of work, including not only hours spent in class but also hours spent studying and completing tasks.

How can I customise my course?

Loads of ways! Firstly you can add extra surf lessons to your package if you decide you’re hooked and you have to get more! Or, you can decide to add on extra classes like Grammar and Conversation, Private Classes or Thematic Classes. Anything you need or want to make the most of your time here with us. Just let us know!

What if I don’t know my Spanish level?

Before you start your classes, we need to make sure you’re at the right level. You’ll be sent a link to an online Spanish test before your course starts. Then, you will book an appointment with the director of studies to do an oral test through Skype, Whatsapp or telephone to assess not only your Spanish level but also your goals for studying with us. This will allow us to place you in a class that will challenge you but not overwhelm you.

What our students say

I spent 4 weeks in Cadiz doing language courses and surf lessons and could not have imagined a better way of doing it. What a great combination! Classes are of very high quality and super fun. There is a strong focus on maintaining quality conversations in Spanish, both inside the classes and outside. The residence is very comfortable and well-equipped and is in a great location. The surf lessons are of very high quality and through the lessons you can also meet lots of like-minded people. I had a great time and I’d recommend Spanish & Surf to anyone.

I can’t recommend the Spanish and Surf experience enough. The team made me feel very welcome, the accommodation was great, the classes were fun and professional, and overall, the experience was amazing. A collection of great new experiences! I cannot wait to return next summer. Keep up the good work guys!
